BRUSH UP ON BRITISH ROYALTY WHEN VISITING
BRIGHTON
It certainly helps to know who was who
in British royalty when visiting Brighton.
To give you a hint of the confusion -
George Augustus
Frederick Prince of
Wales, Prince
George, Prince
Regent and King
George 1V were one
and the same,
commonly known to
his friends as
"Prinny." He
married Caroline,
while still wed to
Mrs Fitzherbert.
His mother was
Queen Charlotte, his daughter Princess
Charlotte. There were others, but if you
bear only this much in mind your
self-guided tour of Brighton's Royal
Pavilion will be all the more interesting.
Article ends:
Brighton is 51 miles (82km)
from London via the A23/M23. There are
also frequent bus and train services (less
than an hour from Victoria).
